The name Oscar Calvo is synonymous with stylish, high quality men’s clothing. His contribution to The Naked Truth presented the best of his casual, active wear. A striped knit tee was paired with funky board shorts creating effortless aquatic style. An aqua blue knitted cardi was also dressed down with brightly coloured swimwear. A palette of blues, greens and purples interspersed with the season favourite white was a definite winner on the day.

From Beach to Disco Fashion Show

Hot summer menswear looks were kicked off beach-chic style when designer, Melbourne-based Oscar Calvo, opened his Spring/ Summer 2007/08 Fashion Show with a performance by the Pole Divas. Striped tees, linen blazers, silk shorts and fine merino V-neck tops were presented in the locally made range. Calvo said the range was inspired by Madonna’s Confessions tour with pieces styled to be worn from beach to disco.

The show’s ultimate goal was to raise money for HIV/AIDS research to promote awareness and education for young people of Australia.  All funds raised from Calvo’s Spring/Summer 2008 Fashion Show went to support Y.E.A.H (Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS).

A Night of Latin Rhythm

Oscar Calvo donated some of his designs in the 2008 Red Cross Gala Ball; “A Night of Latin Rhythm.”  The Gala Ball is an annual Red Cross fundraiser.  With more than 100 million volunteers worldwide and 60,000 members and volunteers in Australia, Red Cross reaches people and places like nobody else.  They provide relief in times of crisis, on the other side of the world when disaster strikes or at home when a personal situation seems insurmountable.  Care when it’s needed most for people struggling with HIV and elderly Australians living alone. Red Cross shows commitment when others turn away, whether it’s protection for innocent civilians during conflict, a safe blood supply thanks to 500,000 Australian voluntary blood donors.  Australian Red Cross is there for people in need, no matter where you live, no matter who you are.

Latino Fashion Cabaret 2006 - Designer Tee Campaign

A selection of Designer Tee’s from other well known and up and coming Australian designers including Oscar Calvo, will be available to bid on through silent auction. The raising of funds for the campaign is through the sale of Target t-shirts, which has had enormous success in the United States, Great Britain, Brazil, Argentina, Iceland and Greece. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer t-shirts will be on sale in Target stores, with proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research, education and treatment.
